I enabled " online backup " for 2 db's EAIBDB5P/EAIBDB6P to be archived to VENDOR:/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbdb2.sl64

But I get critical problem which is: DB2 archive log without issuing online backup see db2duiag.log

This message keep repeating for both [EAIBDB5P/EAIBDB6P] until log become full how i can stop this?

For Information i have to 2 databases on this instance.

I didn't isue any online backup it seems there is "DB2 automatic log archiving" How i can disable this.

You are confusing online backup and log archiving. While log archiving is a prerequisite for online backups, it will be happening once enabled, whether you do the backup or not.

You will need to work with your storage administrator to figure out what NetBackup error code 11 means and why it refuses to archive DB2 logs.

On the Symantec web site you will find a manual explaining DB2 configuration for your version of NetBackup.

Regarding symentic manual i already followed it , also i do the same in test enviroment but it didn't do same "automatic archive" I am confused why it 's issuing this.

what do you mean "log archiving is a prerequisite for online backups, it will be happening once enabled, whether you do the backup or not.

If thats right ,Do this archive happens all time or not and why it's happening wthout ask to archive.

How to I know it's working probley , Because I disable policy in netbackup to avoid thousands of automated log archive!

My Q is why DB2 try to archive automatically , this causing thousands of archive for two databases , this why i disabled backup policy on Netbackup Server.

Same configration i made it to test and it's fine. it's archive only once i take online backup.
