Hi All,
I have few questions regarding the DB2 9.1 ESE (64-bit software) on a 64-bit Linux machine. Appreciate if you could shed some light here:

• The DB2 server resides on a remote server.
  I do not have the VNC session for it and the only option is the command line install. Can I initiate db2setup (Graphical interface) from the command line? I'm more concerned about the display errors which may pop-up?
• What are the groups and users that need to be created before installing DB2?
• Is there any difference if I use command line installation setup rather than GUI setup wizard?

Appreciate if you could suggest me these things so that I could make a decent start with the install.

If you use the command line install (using root), you don't need to create any user id's until you create an instance (which can be done later with db2icrt). Make sure you have the correct Linux package pre-reqs.
