Configuring TSM client for DB2 on AIX

Hi , I 'm trying to configure TSM client for DB2 8.2 on 64 bit. The person who installed TSM client on the AIX box is on extended holiday.

1. How should I verify TSM client and server are properly setup

2. Then I need to configure TSM API client for 64 bit version

Could someone tell me where I can locate the documentation. I have checked in Data recovery and High Availability Guide and Reference but it has limited information.( It doesn't say how to configure dsm.sys and dsm.opt files)

Thanks in advance.

Hi , Thanks for the information. But I can't see any information about setting up dsm.opt and dsm.sys files. Do you know why and where to find out those information please ?

Hi , thanks for the information.

Are these dsm.sys parms need to be updated just for the TSM server or local db2 server as well ? Where can I find some details( documentation) please ?
Thanks.

Possibly in the TSM docs. You can also take a look at the following redbook:

Thanks for both of you, It works. The Redbook is very helpful too !

basically I created dsm.sys and dsm.opt files with all the necessary parms in /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin64 directory (followed the redbook steps).

I have bit confused about various clients that TSM talks about! Can someone briefly clarify the role of these various clients please ?
TSM client
API client
Backup-Archive client (in /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin directory)
