DB2 9.7 FP2 and Windows 2008 R2 x64 very slow.

Hi guys, finding this on a few of our servers. It seems to be extremely slow. Even a "LIST APPLICATIONS" takes forever the first time you run it. CREATE or RESTORE DATABASE also takes forerver. What takes 5 minutes on a Windows 2003 server will take 25 minutes on a Windows 2008 x64 R2 server. Anybody have the same problem and did you find a solution?

I'm going to install FP3, but I doubt this is going to help.

Creating a database that is. Also just stuck on FP3. Made no difference.

Are you a DBA? Have you ever used DB2 before. How did you configure the DB2 instance and database?

Yes, I am a certified DB2 DBA. I have been working with DB2 for 10 years and have never come across this issue before. DB2 v9.5 x64 seems to work well with Windows 2008 R2 x64 on a another server I am running as well as DB2 v9.1 on a Windows 2003 Server, etc. I am only having a problem with DB2 v9.7 and Win 2008 server. Is anybody else running this combo?

Any ideas?

You can start with checking installation log files for any errors. If there are no errors in install log, you can check the differences (like firewall , anti-virus , etc. ) between working Windows 2008 R2 x64 and new server.

For information on errors encountered during installation, review the installation log file located in the My Documents\DB2LOG\ directory. The log file uses the following format: DB2-ProductAbrrev-DateTime.log, for example, DB2-ESE-Tue Apr 04 17_04_45 2008.log.

and keep us informed please! My client is preparing to upgrade from v9.5.5 to v9.7.2 and from win2003 to win2008. This is planned for the 1st half of 2011. I have not read a lot about the combo win2008 + db2 so I am very curious how this topic ends....
