Red face Shared memory issue

when i try to login to one of my database i get the shared memeory error and check all the kernel configurations it looks fine but i get this often...


[db2inst1@WESSSTDW01 ~]$ db2 connect to reporter
SQL1084C Shared memory segments cannot be allocated. SQLSTATE=57019
[db2inst1@WESSSTDW01 ~]$

here is the kernel parameter

because memory is not available.. there are many reasons for this error
is this a 32bit system
there are some technotes in dev.works about this
memory size ? free memory ?
more detail are needed to debug this

i will provide the req. info as much as i can...

it is correct what iam using is a 32bit box..

i was getting this error often...

A workaround for this is the use of the registry DB2_OVERRIDE_BPF. At database start this automaticly sets all you bufferpools to the value (in pages) specified by this parameter.
