Question Transactional lg backup

Hello All,

I would like to take a transactional log backup in my local disk . Please help me how to perform the same .

I understand that i have to set the environment variables USEREXIT,audit_error_loG .. But to be honest i 'm not sure . Really appreciate your help .

which version of db2 ur using ,
U mean database backup including logs or only want to take logs backup
wht is logging mode archival or circular mode.

Hello Paul,

Thanks for the reply .

As mentioned earlier mail db2 is on 9.7 FP2 . I just want to take the archive log alone . It's archival method ..

db2 update db cfg for <dbname> using logarchmeth1 disk:/db2/log/archivedir

where /db2/log/arhivedir is where the log files are archived to ..
You may use any directory as long as the permissions are set right

Here my question is how to backup the files in log_archive . should it be a manua movement or we need to use any db2 utility to backup the files under log_achive .

once the logs are archived, db2 does not control the files anymore. Make sure to take a backup an OS specific method
