install error

downloaded db2exc_972_WIN_x86_64.exe to install on xp-pro, intel-I5-64bit processor machine.
it runs a while unpacking files, cabs, etc then errors with message seen in attachment
any body seen this? ideas to fix?

I don't know if it will fix the problem, but I have always had better luck with DB2 Windows when I manually extracted the files to a directory via Winzip and then run the setup program.

You might get better help on this problem at the DB2 Express-C forum on the IBM website.

thanks I'll try ibm, I didn't get a zip, there was not option to get a zip, just the self extracting .exe

You should be able to extract a self-extracting zip in most cases (using Winzip, etc), but not sure about this particular file.
