db2 v9.5 hanging on connection request

Has anyone had a similiar situation where the db2 server had the following symptoms:

1. All users connected to the database were able to work fine. However, no other connections (remote or local) were allowed. On a connection request the command would hang.
2. Local commands like 'db2 list application' would hang also.
3. The transaction logs were being updated.
4. Nothing was written to the db2diag.log during this period

Solaris 10

DB21085I Instance "db2inst1" uses "64" bits and DB2 code release "SQL09053"
with level identifier "06040107".
Informational tokens are "DB2 v9.5.0.3", "special_22945", "U818976_22945", and
Fix Pack "3".
Product is installed at "/app/liqdg/sw/IBM/db2/V9.5".

Thanks

Looks like a system issue, probably unable to spawn new processes ..

Ask your system admins to check the console output

Would nofiles limit being hit cause this issue? What other reasons could cause this issue ?

The UNIX SA said there were no errors in the system logs.
