Accessing a DB2 for LUW database from Mainframe

Hi,

In order to access a mainframe database (db2 on zos) from a Windows or Unix environment, we generally catalog the remote mainframe database in our local unix or windows environment and then using db2 connect we will connect to the mainframe database and access the db objects.

In contrast, how could we do this, if we need to access a db2 unix database(db2 on luw) from a mainframe environment.

1. Is it like, should we catalog the remote db2 LUW database in the Mainframe systems. If so, how ?

Not sure, If the DRDA or DDF stuffs in Mainframe should be used. I'm just simply trying to access a db2 luw database from a Mainframe environment.

Could someone please help me out on this ?? Plz

Thanks,
Vinoth
