DB2 License file

Hello All,

we are in process of migrating old legacy v7 server to v8 and then v9.5.

we have the v8 software with us and but not the license file.

we have another db2 connect server with v8 fp 18 on aix 5.2.0 64 bit and permanent licesne.

What license files needs to be copied from the above server ?

Thanks

the license files for different products : ese wse conn are not the same, because they have another product_code
in /opt/IBM/db2/VX.X/license (or the install path of your db2) there should be a nodelock file that can be used
try db2licm -a xxxxx and db2licm -l to list after import
if v8 was installed now, there should be a try-and-buy license supplied and db2 is active for xx days..

Each release (8x, 9.1, 9.5, 9.7) needs its own license file. 8.1 and 8.2 shared the same license file. Fixpacks within a release do not need a new license file (assuming one is already in place).

Here we have a db2 software but not sure whether we have permanent license embedded.
so thought of taking license for the same edition from the other server.

hope here we need to add the permanent license using db2ese.lic.
wondering which files needs to be copied.

Thanks Marcus and przytula.

Thanks Smith for your updates.
As V8 is out of support, I believe license file package file will not be available in IBM passport.
