org.hibernate.HibernateException: The database returned no natively generated identit

Hi all,
I have upgraded my DB2 database and copied the old schema to the new database. But i am getting the error org.hibernate.HibernateException: The database returned no natively generated identity value. The field that is gving this value is mapped in Hibernate as "native".
Is it a set up issue or hibernate related issue.. plz help
