Clustering in DB2

Hello,

I have an issue, can some one clarify it?

In my environment, i want to install Db2 in 2 servers and have a cluster (where if any server go down the other one go up), how to configure the cluster on them ?

I need that cluster be done without SAN

plz help me ....

I believe that you need to look at HADR. Look it up in the manuals.

if you don't have a cluster software, you can use hadr and tsa for ha and failover
the database will be available twice
have a look at doc for details
Initializing high availability disaster recovery (HADR) - IBM DB2 9.7 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows
if a cluster software is available the setup is different - look at cluster in the same doc

thanks for ur info and i appreciate ur help

but i feel confused

sorry could you tell me what is meant by cluster software ??

and if i already have a cluster software which type of cluster i can implement without SAN ?

else if i don't have a cluster software ,, did the HADR help me to install db2 on two server without using SAN (where the second one will be online if the first go down) ?

hint:
in my environment it doesn't matter working under Linux or Windows

cluster software is a special software that does all operations in case of failure
start with hadr : this is part of db2 and in some edition included in other charged
hadr has nothing todo with san - it does a logbuffer shipping

HADR does not require a SAN since it does not use shared disk, since each server has its own copy of the database.
