Split brain scenario for HADR

Hi

Please let me know what is split brain scenario??

Is it both primary and standby node becoming Primary??

If both the nodes come up as primary can they communicate each other and will they do any update to databases between them(consider only on one node client access IP Address is available)?

Thanks
Arun

because of some takeover by force - the standby has become primary but as primary could not be informed/connected is still primary /active also
so split brain = 2 active databases
