Not a big fan of reinventing the wheel and I can't find anything useful after hours of Googling and I'm not used to Windows and windows scripting so I'm wondering how other people automate the pruning of Transaction Logs?

Easily done in AIX but seems to be a real pain in Win :/

you mean the archived logs ?
cygwin can also be used to simulate a unix shell
we do it in a rexx script after the backup - we decide how many backups to keep and clean the logs. but we use tsm for the archive so it is easy todo with db2adutl
