Hello folks,

Is it necessary to take an offline Backup of the Primary Database before I am restoring it into the Standby Server?

Or is it also possible to make a full Backup Online and make a restore of this into the standby? thanks in advance.

you can take offline or online - as long as the restored/standby db is in rollforward mode pending : this is ok
