When I was taking online backup I got following error .
DB2 9.1 & Fp 4a & AIX -5.3

When I was taking online backup I got below error.I have increase the locktime parameter and REC_HIS_RETENTN also but still I am getting same error.

could you please help on this one and how to correct the problem ?


db2 backup db SAMPLE online use tsm include logs without prompting

SQL2048N An error occurred while accessing object "db2rhist.asc". Reason
code: "2".

db2rhist file is missing.
I didn't find file (db2rhist.asc) on NODE0000/SQL00001/ on this directory.

What can I do now ?

You can restore the history file from a recent backup.

just run db2 list history backup all for xxx twice

it will re-create the history file automatically

db2rhist.asc file is corrupted due to filesystem is full.
I have moved the two files(db2rhist.bak&db2rhist.asc) to some other directory. After I issued the history command . history command create these two files. later I ran online backup is executing fine.

db2rhist.bak is backup of db2rhist.asc
always first try to rename .asc file and rename .bak to .asc
if this does not help : have file created again or use restore for history file
