DB2 SQL30082N Attempt to establish connection failed with security reason "1"

I am running DB2 9.1 on redhat linux 5.1 ...

I am trying to connect to db2 but getting this error

"SQLConnect: rc=-1, SQLSTATE: 08001, Error Msg:[IBM][CLI Driver] SQL30082N Security processing failed with reason "1" ["PASSWORD EXPIRED"], SQLSTATE=08001"

THUMBNAIL ATTACHED

....when tried to change password it says not authorized to do so

The user is not a sysadm (db2inst1 ) and just has access to select from tables nothing more....

any ideas ...

How is the authentication being performed (by the OS or some other method)? How did you try to change the password?

Ok .....

I tried to connect through HYPERION to my db2 9.1 server using username jnazir when I got the error... I then logged into that server through jnazir and entered passwd... then I got the error password expired.. I entered passwd to change passwd but it gave me that not allowed to perform this operation error
