DB2 upgrade

Hi,
At present We are using DB2 version8.2 Now it is decided to upgrade DB2 version to 10.1

I was asked us to check the impact of this DB2 Upgrade on our application.

They have given a list which gives the changes between DB2 v8.2 to v10.1

I am very new to DB2.

How should I check the impact in our application (COBOL-DB2) programs.

you need to read IBM's documentation on the DB2 upgrade. You can google it.

DB2 upgrade on zOS is a serious task, done differently from DB2 LUW upgrade and should not be done by a newbie.

list contains:

1.keywords changes from v8.1 to v10 (like INSERT,DESCRIBE..)
2.Default values in v8 and in v10 (for STATIME default value in v8 is 5 and in v10 is 1)
3.features not supported in v10.
4.Reserve words in v8 and v10.

What would you use such a list for? It won't tell you much anyway because it is inherently complete if it comes to differences between 2 major DB2 versions. The best advise was given by Markus: read the manuals. There is a section "What's new", which describes the major changes and enhancements.
