Have a question on DB2 configuration. We are trying to configure a 500GB db2 database accross 6 RAID-groups of disks, and we think to use SMS for all tablespaces and stripe them to 6 disks. We know SMS will have data, index, long objects all mixed together, but since we do striping, it will not make much difference(?). The question is, what's the pros and cons for using SMS or DMS for user objects in configuring a new DB?

Take a look at the DB2 docs such as :

It is for V7 but you can find similar doc for V8.
