backup in progress

Received the following error when running our daily online backup:
SQL2048N An error occurred while accessing object "3". Reason code: "6".

Error 6:
The object being accessed is a table space and either the table space is in such a state that the operation is not allowed or one or more containers of the table space is not available. (LIST TABLESPACES will list the current table space state.)

When I list the tablespaces:

Tablespaces for Current Database

Tablespace ID = 0
Name = SYSCATSPACE
Type = System managed space
Contents = Any data
State = 0x0800
Detailed explanation:
Backup in progress

Tablespace ID = 2
Name = USERSPACE1
Type = System managed space
Contents = Any data
State = 0x0800
Detailed explanation:
Backup in progress

Tablespace ID = 3
Name = DATA01
Type = Database managed space
Contents = Any data
State = 0x0000
Detailed explanation:
Normal

flashaix db2prod $db2 list tablespace containers for 3 show detail

Tablespace Containers for Tablespace 3

Container ID = 0
Name = /db2prod/data/data01.f01
Type = File
Total pages = 11025277
Useable pages = 11025216
Accessible = Yes

All Containers for all objects show as accessible.....

No clue on why the error was generated.....

What can I do to get my tablespaces out of "Backup in Progress" state?

Can I just run a backup abort?

It happend to me once ... The only way I got to get rid of the Backup in process state was to shutdown the database ...

Even if accessible I don't known this from fact but I would think it is best to get the TBS in normal state as soon as possible especially if their are many changes in the db.

how to fix the backup in progress

I have seen this before with our databases usually when a backup fails in DB2. You can take a backup to /dev/null to get your tablespaces back to normal.

I ran a online backup and after completeing, the tablespace stayed in "backup in progress". So I kicked off a new backup and terminated it. Now the tablespaces are in "Normal"..... Go Figure......
