DB2 start and stopping

I am running db2 v8.1 on redhat 7.2.

I recently changed the IP address of the server from dynamic DHCP to static.

When I run the db2start command, I get:

28/10/2003 10:08:59 0 0 SQL6048N A communication error occurred during START or STOP DATABASE MANAGER processing.
SQL1032N No start database manager command was issued. SQLSTATE=57019

ok, I changed the db2nodes.cfg to update it with the new hostname, now I'm getting the following error:

[db2inst1@d06ad10d sqllib]$ db2 connect to GFEDEV4 user ecpdba
Enter current password for ecpdba:
SQL1031N The database directory cannot be found on the indicated file system.
SQLSTATE=58031

Though there is an entry in the /etc/hosts file linking the hostname to the ip address
