if exists(....) ....

like in MSSQL?

Probably the same if MS SQL conforms to ANSI standard SQL.

In the "Useful DB2 Stuff" thread, there is a link to downloadable manuals in PDF format. You want the SQL Reference Vol 1 and 2 (or a single volume for DB2 version 7).
