Migrating Backup From Unix Environment To Windows

i HAVE A BACKUP COPY OF A DATABASE named MST

MST.0.db2admin.NODE0000.CATN0000.20031031171532.00 1

on AIX m./c. Now if I need to restore the database on a windows

machine , The database doesnot recognise the file system as the

structure of the file system of the backup image on windows or linux is

different . Is there any way I can restore the database from this

backup on windows for db2 version 8.1 Enterprise server edition?

No, you cannot restore a DB2 database backup to a different operating system than it was backed up from.

The only exception is that AIX, HP/UX, and Solaris DB2 backups are interchangeable.

You can look at db2move or use a combination of db2look and export/import to move to the new OS.

This has been discussed many times earlier ..

You will find a link to a FAQ on this topic in the 'Useful DB2 Stuff' thread in the forum ...
