Red face DB2 JDBC Driver - Fetching Non-ASCII char's

We are using DB2 Connect 7.1 version. We are not able to retrieve non-ascii characters stored in the DB2 (mainframe) as they are in the Database. We are getting some other cahracter(s) in their place.
For exapmle , 'µ' in the database is being retrieved as some other character by the Driver. We are suspecting that some config. is not done properly.

Please let me know, if it is the Driver limitation or we need to configure anyhing or any heigher versions can do this.

Thanks
bhanu
