Hi Gurus,

I am using UDB7.2.My problem is yesterday i have taken a offline backup.Today i renamed one tablespace.First it was worked fine.After 2 hours the database has been crashed meanwhile somany transactions were done.What can i do.How can I recover the data without losing.

Please its urgent.

AFAIK,

1) If you want to restore at the db level, you can go ahead and restore ... Your renmae will be available in the logs and hence will be done during rollforward

2) If you want to restore only that renamed tablespace, use the new name in the restore and rollforward commands ...

When restoring a table space that has been renamed since it
was backed up, the new table space name must be used when
invoking the restore utility. If the old name is used, the table
space will not be found.

If you have renamed a table space following the most recent backup
operation, ensure that you use the new name when rolling the table space
forward. The previous table space name will not be recognized.
