URGENT HELP reg query

Guys,
START_DATE is a field in a table.I need to retreive (START_DATE - 1 day) from a table.START_DATE is Timestamp datatype.
How to write this query.

I am not sure exactly what you want. At face value, you are asking for:

SELECT START_DATE - 1 DAY as new_TIMESTAMP from MyTable
