We have a application running on UDB 7.2 Fixpack 10 on AIX 4.33.

The other application runs on Oracle 817 on Windows.

I am new to this connectivity thing so asking this question..

How can the Oracle Application trnasfer data back and forth to the Db2 database. I know Oracle's OTG is one solution.

a) Can Db2 connect be used for this ??

b) Or is there a UDB ODBC Driver for this ??

DB2 connect is for OS/390 or As/400 only..

think DB2 federated server is the solution. Take a look at the federated server manual available in IBM site

There is a concept of a relational connect that allows you to interchange data between Oracle and DB2.

I think Dipanjan is spot-on. Federated access is the solution. There is a whole bunch of good documents on IBM site. Federated Systems Guide might suit you well.

There is a utility called "Information Integrator" from IBM. Please check the IBM site for more information.
