Exclamation DRDA Setup

OS : WIN2K
RDBMS (SERVER): DB2 UDB V7 FP9
RDBMS (CLIENT) : DB2 UDB V8 FP3

Hi:

We have v8 client who wants to connect to one of the last one remaining database on v7 server. According to the DB2 documentation one need to setup DB2COMM parameter and so on. Can somebody provide me with the exact link to one such document (I didn't find the informaiton in Installation and Configuration Supplement very usefull) which describes how to go about doing it?

Thanks in advance.

Smile Version Difference.

Hi.

I don't think you can connect from a V8 Client to V7 Database.

Hope I am right

Nitin.

P.S. The DB2COMM Parameter is used to set the type of protocol you want to use to connect to the DB2 Server and DRDA is only used for MainFrame Conncetivity and you need DB2 Connect there.

Re: Version Difference.

Yup - it is not officially supported and in my tests didn't work either, so you are absolutely right.

I didn't try to make the connection through a version 8 DB2 Connect gateway, though. This might be supported, but I don't know.
