Response File

Hi,

There is a concept of a response file which stores all the settings when you install Db2 on windows platform. The same response file can be used to trigger installations on different machines.

I am not sure if you are looking for something like this.

As far as I can recollect this applies only to windows platform.

However I suggest you read the installation guides for more details.

Please also remember to mention your OS with your next posts that does help.

Cheers

Nitin.

Re: Response File

David/Nitin ...

Response file installation is available on Unix Platforms also ..

But, afaik, there is no db2rspgn (response file generator) utility ... So you may have to use the sample rsp file provided and manually edit the contents ..

Cheers

Re: Response File

Thanks! The OS is Solaris 8/9. Basically, I just do not want to go through the interactive setup every time. So you mean I can set up a configuration file and let DB2 do automatically. Is my understanding correct?

Prcisely

Yes.. that's what we all meant.

However you will have to replicate a setup which would enable you to generate the response file and later use this as a medium for further installations.
