db2level

Hi,

When I type "db2level" on command prompt, following appears:

DB21085I Instance "db2inst5" uses "32" bits and DB2 code release "SQL08010"
with level identifier "01010106".
Informational tokens are "DB2 v8.1.1.0", "s021023", "", and FixPak "0".
Product is installed at "/usr/opt/db2_08_01".

What does DB2 v8.1.1.0 means? I mean how can I know what is the version number and Fix pack/pach.

Additionally, is there a web site where I can find the latest patch/fix pack release by IBM for UDB 8.1. I habe heard that the latest patch is 4 for UDB 8.1.

DB2LEVEL

Hi Gulshan

The information indicates that you have not applied any fixpack to your machine.

If Fix pack was applied then the information looks like this

C:\>db2level
DB21085I Instance "DB2" uses "32" bits and DB2 code release "SQL08014" with
level identifier "02050106".
Informational tokens are "DB2 v8.1.4.341", "s031027", "WR21326", and FixPak
"4".
Product is installed at "E:\PROGRA~1\IBM\SQLLIB".

"DB2 v8.1.4.341" Indicates the version of the product.

"WR21326", Indicates the FixPak Name Issued by IBM

FixPak "4". Indicates the Fix Pak No.

This shows Fix Pak 4 is applied hope now you are able to relate the same to your env and intrepret.

However I suggest you currently apply fix pak 3 as it is more stable and we have run into instance level issues with fix pak 4 and ibm is addressing that currently.

The link to fix pak is
