DB2 7.2 on server and DB2 connect 8.1 on client ! !

All:

I have a solaris server that has DB2 7.2 on it and a client machine that has DB2 connect 8.1 on it.

Questions for you all

-Is DB2 backword compatible? Thats is should I be able to connect to the server that has 7.2 from client that is 8.2?

I get the following error when I try to view tables on the server from my client.
[IBM][CLI Driver][DB2/6000] SQL0805N Package "NULLID.SYSSH200"
was not found. SQLSTATE=51002

-Are there any limitations to this setup?

-Any other tips/tricks/comments are welcome.

Thanks in advance

-Vish

No

Hi,

I don't think backward compatibilty is possible as there are quite a few architectural level changes between V7 and V8.

However you can check the IBM site for more pointers.
