lock status

hi to
sir some times while running applicaion table is locked.
i can't run even select query on particular table.

in praticular transction program we are explictly lock the table.
because more than one people can access same transction.

while running that particular transction can i check the status of the table.
how to check parlicular table status.

pl tell me sir
