Problem with Control Center on DB2 Connect v8

hi,
we've just installed db2 connect v8.1.4.
we connect with it to our db2 on os390 v7.1.
all the utilities work great except of the control center (it wants to feel special... ).
when i try to connect through it to the os390, i get this message in the diag file:

the stored procedures are seemed to be installed ok. they work just fine with db2 connect v7.

any ideas?
