Building SQL SPs and UDFs

Is there a way of building SQL SPs and UDFs from outside the development centre.

Obviously I cannot run the Prep command on the .sql file that is generated while coding. What are the steps that need to be carried out if I need to compile them from the command line ?

Forgot to mention - UDB V8.1 on AIX
