DB2 UDB install on which Linux ?
I am new to DB2 UDB, I want to install DB2 on a linux machine.
can anyone help me with:

- which version/build of Linux is needed
- which version of DB2

I suggest you go for the latest version, V8.1.4, if you have the choice .. Install Personal Edition if you do not want remote connectivity ... Install ESE if you want remote connectivity but have to reinstall every 90 days ...

Did anyone manage to install DB2V 8.1.4 on Redhat 9 or Fedora distribution ?

Yes, I have done it. But you may not be able to use mutliple processors on your system. Search this forum for how to do workarounds for RH9 to make it work. But even if it does work, IBM will not support it.

Thanks! This is for personal learning use only. I do not care about the multi processor and ibm support.
