Thumbs down db2fm can not send notification email

OS: SUsE z/Linux Kernel 2.4.21
DB2: Connect EE V8.1FP4

Hay everybody,

when the db2 fault monitor has to restart an instance it is supposed to send a mail to the adress that is configured. I have tested sending command line mails on bash and ksh. I think the db2fmc does use the mail lib on linux for sending a mail, just as the mail clients do. So it is possible to send a mail form that workstation....but I never recieved one by seeing this message in db2diag.log:

2004-02-17-13.56.49.210641 pid:7332 tid:1024 level:2
Common - Fault Monitor Facility - fmMainLogic() probe:130
called fmEmailNotify()
return code 0x90000371 The fault monitor daemon failed to send an e-mail notification
impact 0x90000371 The fault monitor daemon failed to send an e-mail notification

Anyone did experience such errors? Or does anyone know how the fault monitor tries to send the mail?

gr roman
