Version 8, FixPak 5 now available

I found out recently on another forum, that even number fixpaks have functional improvements and fixes, while odd number fixpaks only have fixes.

Re: Verion 8, FixPak 5 now avaialable

mmm .. This is how it was originally planned ... But, as far as I understand, all fixes and/or updates have had new functionality ...

Not yet sure about FP5

Cheers

Just repeating what someone from the IBM Toronto Lab posted on the DB2 newsgroup. It was posted about 6 months ago, IIRC.

What Marcus heard about odd and even fixpacks is true. I got it straight from IBM at last years IDUG conference. FP5 is out as of 2/24/2004:

Sorry ... I could have made it clear ..

Yes, I have read Updates-Fixpack difference earlier ... What I tried to tell was the fact that fixpacks(odd ones) have had updates ...

Cheers

Seems Good

Hi,

I have been through the apar list of the fix pack 5 and it seems to have addressed many issues relating to memory allocation in FP4.

Let's hope this is a better version we still are running around with IBM and PMR's to find some resolutions to instance crashing in FP4.

Cheers

Nitin.
