how can i get the "search-time" to estaminate OVERHEAD Parameter ?



OVERHEAD = average search-time in Millisekunden + (0,5 * 6)

where 6 = "rotation latency" in msec ...


"average search-time in Millisekunden" ????? how can i get it?

Read your hard drive specifications.

If you create a tablespace using the Control Center Wizard, it will show the calculations. You can choose the existing categories (Desktop IDE, Server SCSI, etc,) and then customize the specific specifications (like RPM or average seek time) and it will show you the calculated overhead.

Just get to the part in the Wizard where you describe the hard drive settings and then cancel out of the dialog before the tablespace is actually created.
