Windows 2000 reinstall

DB2 7.1 fixpack 6 on Windows 2000.

I lost my W2K installation, but had DB2 on a separate partition. I reinstalled W2K onto another partition. I then reinstalled DB2 onto its existing location.

DB2 has picked up the two existing databases but I cannot connect to them: if I issue the 'connect to db' there is no response in command center. If I attempt to look at the properties of the databases found via control center then control center crashes.

The files are still present though I realize that these are not proper backups. How do I get at the data. It is data for a course I am studying.
