Linguistic Sorting

How to do have the Linguistic Sorting in DB2. I know oracle provides it by NLSSORT feature. NLS_SORT is a init.ora parameter which does the sort based on the language. I want to know how it is to be implemented in DB2.

Thank you.

Re: Linguistic Sorting

I think you may want to look at the 'collating sequence' in db2 ...

AFAIk, in DB2 this is not configurable , but it has to be decided when creating the database itself

Cheers

Hi,

The simplyest way is to use DB2 Control Center.
1. Click pluses until you get Databases folder.
2. Right-click and select Create | Database using Wizard.
3. Follow the wizard (at the Region page it will give you a territory info to choose).

Hope this helps,
Grofaty
