Question New DMS leads fatal error, help me.. waiting online

Hi all.
My colleague maintains our DB2 V7.1 on Windows 2000 server.
He creates a DMS type tablespace, used DEVICE as it container (maybe D:, I'm not sure). When he reset the OS, the DISK D BECOME EMPTY and CANNTO be accessd from windows explorer. The DB2 system was installed on DISK D, how will this tragedy happened? what shall we do now?

please help. Any advice will be appreciated.......THANX.

Unhappy Re-Install

Hi.

RESET THE OS MEANS WHAT?

To me it seems your friend went ahead and reloaded the OS which has caused all the device configurations and everything to be invalidated and nothing can recover that to the best of my knowledge.

The following can be done.

1. If you have a complete backup image I mean with the OS the go ahead and restore it. That is the best and will solve all your issues.

2. If you have a db backup the first install the DB2 Software and restore the database from that backup using the redirected restore method.

That's all i feel can be possible god help you.

Thanx to nitingm.
After finishing all of the modification, my friend reset the Operation System(that is, Windows 2k Server).
It seemed that the only thing I can do is to reinstall DB2 system and restore the DB backup.
thanx again.
