is there any way to change the database user password on db2 udb 8.1 for linux without using unix command "passwd" on operating system?

db2 connect to <dbname> user <username> using <current password> new <new password> confirm <new password>

hmmm .. but why have i to create the database user on operating system? or ist there any way too to create a database user without command useradd?

and when i try to change the password i became this message:

SQL30083N Attempt to change password for user id "17" failed with security
reason "UNSUPPORTED FUNCTION" (""). SQLSTATE=08001


what need db2 to support this function?

In red hat , if u need to change to password, seems u have to change at /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow. u cant change by using the command as the above said. U can try to write script for user to change the password
