Setting up Mail on DB2

I need to set up my db2 server to send e mails to members on the contact list. I am in a company that uses MS Exchange, do I need to have outlook loaded on the server for DB2 to send e mail? What do I need to do to configure the server to send e mail?
Regards
Jim

Arrow Depends

Well I guess it depends on server type and connection.

I'm on AIX, and the inherent korn shell mail system
has no problems whatsoever delivering mail to our
company MSExchange account.

If you just specify the network user name and the domain, i.e.:
username@domain, I think your in the clear,
of course this only works if your DB server can access the network.

you being on AIX asking you this may not be of any good to me. First let me stipulate I am running Windows 2003 Enterprise and DB2 udb v 8.1. My machine is logged onto localy, with a local admin account starting the services. My guess is that that is stoping the mail from going through. If i useded an accont that has access to the domain would it work? and can i just start the services with that or do I have to log onto the server with that user id?
