Question DB2 Websphere Install Failure

DB2 UDB V8.1 Windows 2000 Server
Websphere 4.0

Hello,

I am trying to install Websphere. I have DB2 v8.1 installed. I create the repository database. When I install Websphere, it fails with:

Either DB2 is not installed on this computer or the version does not match the one supported by this product.

I have tried Fix Pack 1, 1a, 4a. Same error everytime. Any ideas?

Beck

If this is a update then did you migrate your databases first?

Resolved!

No it wasnt an update. The repository database and the Websphere install are on the same server, therefore by my definition that would be considered a LOCAL database. When I checked the checkbox that say "remote database" is got pass the error and installed. Its not a remote database, but for some reason you have to check that box in order to proceed. Go figure?

thanks,

Beck
