I am totally new to database admin field, now i am working on DB2 version 7 for AIX. I have been assigned the task of looking after the healthiness of the database and the hit in the database on day today basis. I studied alert can be generted via performace monitor. The step i carried out is something like this I use the control center. There in the systems it LIST MONITOR it gave me some IBM predefined alerts then I tried to create my own monitor .
My question is to know how should i apply this on database and how to start. It would be of very great help if any of you guide me how to set the perfomace tuning and set alert.
