IBM DB2 v8 first install- errors

Hello,

I am presently trying to install IBM DB2 v.8 on a Windows 2003 server with
the latest service packs (logged as Administrator on the server ) .We are going to be installing AAS Enterprise 52.I am receiving the following error messages:

1st- An error ocurred while launching the command drogramfiles....bi
n/db2.exe.....the return value is 5104.

2nd - SQL1390c .The environement variable db2 instance is not defined or is
invalid.

3rd- When attempting to install without the tools the following message
appears:
DBC29501e DB2 has detected an inconsistent environement. Please investigate
the
following DB2 instance -2029059916.

Anyone has an idea of what could cause those errors ?

Thanks,
Debbie
