Hello everyone,

As my signature says, i'm definitely a Delphi Newbie, so excuse my ignorance

What i'm trying to accomplish is pretty simple. All I wanna do is set up my Delphi unit *Using Delphi 5* to access a database that i have *.dbf file* and read the values out of 1 field, and then save whatever the values are into a variable *string variable*.......That's it!

BUt how?! I can't find out how to do it! SOmeone help please!

I've seen online where they talk about BDE and ADO methods of connecting, but I dont have the ADO tab in Delphi 5, so i guess i'd have to use the BDE method.

Any help would be MUCH appreciated! Thanks!
