interactive tree structure

I want to set up a series of drop down menus to place products in filmaker into categories. We have foodservice equipment, so I want to be able to choose from a dozen generic categories, then when i choose one of those I want to be given choices for a dozen subcategories, and so on. Is that possible?

It sounds like you need a 'conditional value list' (also called 'dynamic value list'). The specific directions depend on the version of FileMaker you're using.

I'd suggest you search fmforums.com, as this topic comes up pretty often there.
