I have tried both the utilities, oninit and services to start the engine but I am facing same problems.

my log file contains following error
15 08:30:54 2004

08:30:59 listener-thread: err = -25572: oserr = 2: errstr = : Network driver cannot bind a name to the port.
System error = 2.
08:30:59 Attempting to bring listener thread down.
08:30:59 Server stopped.
08:30:59 Informix Dynamic Server 2000 Stopped.

I have installed Informix Dynamix Server 9.2. But when I am starting the service(Informix IDS 2000) it is autometically getting stopped after 1 or 2 minutes and if I use the command onstat - it gives the error-----

shared memory not initilised for INFORMIXSERVER 'ol_poste481'.

I have installed the server on my laptop. My OS is Windows-xp.

I tried all the posibilities but same error is repeating. Please
help me.

you should refer to the server's message log file (often called online.log)
this file contains the description of the problem(s) you are having

how are you starting the engine, by using oninit or in the services?
It should be started by services.
