Angry database restore

I have tried to restore a db into a different server (same OS), The restore goes on for a while and the server blocked (checkpoint required). The oncofig file has the same contents as the one in the other server. last week friday I left it so that it complete the checkpoint , but on monday it was still on the same state.

I am running informix 7.31 uc5 on Sco openserver 5.06

Please help

Thanking u in advance

HI,

I thinks that you must be back-up of logical logs before run the restore, then applly at end.

Was there any message in the online.log file or on the tty screen you launched it from?

It's been a while from my last restores, but I remember it asks if you'd like to save the logical logs that you have in the system (if any), and/or if you'd like to restore any logical logs after phisycally restoring the system (like Gustavo said in the previous post).

Hi

I finally managed to get it right this morning, the problems was the NFS mounted chunks,. I relocated them and left one to verify that and took 8 hours doing writing to that chunks.

My Birthday started on a good note

Thanks alot
